Samsung launches 10 new models of refrigerators

Samsung India, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co Limited, is targeting a build-up in its market share across its product categories in the home appliances segment. The company has announced the launch of 10 models in the refrigerator category and six in the microwave oven segment.
 
Addressing the media, Pradeep Tognatta, director (sales), Samsung India, said, "We expect our market share in the refrigerator category to increase from 16 per cent to 19 per cent this year. For washing machines, we are eyeing 26 per cent market share in India, up from 20 per cent last year. Similarly, we are looking at 28 per cent market share in air-conditioners and 26 per cent in microwave ovens this year, as against 20 per cent and 21.5 per cent respectively last year."
 
With the launch of 10 models in the frost-free refrigerator category and six models of microwave ovens, is targeting a 50 per cent growth in the sales of both these product lines.
 
The company now has 27 frost-free refrigerator models with prices ranging between Rs 12,500 and Rs 1,35,000 and 14 microwave oven models ranging between Rs 4,790 and Rs 17,990. expects the frost-free refrigerator category to contribute to 50 per cent of its total refrigerator volumes this year.
 
Meanwhile, the company also plans to launch "sound-oriented models of colour televisions" by the end of this month.
