Double roles

A schoolteacher turns himself into Mahatma Gandhi. A lover of old films decides to take on MGRs identity. And a policeman becomes a photographer to capture their lives

It’s an unusual exhibition by an unusual photographer. From Monday, Gallery Sumukha will host “Face Two Face”, an exhibition of photographs by Shivaraju B S aka Cop Shiva. The “cop” prefix is no mere whim or brand: Shivaraju is a constable in the Karnataka Police. This sounds like an anomaly, since the word “policeman” conjures up a lathi-wielding slouch in uniform rather than a sensitive, lens-wielding soul. In this case, the two faces are one. >
