14 TCS staff among 30 killed in road mishap

Thirty people, including 14 TCS employees from Hyderabad, died and 16 others injured in a road accident when a private bus carrying them to Shirdi fell off a road bridge into an adjoining gorge on Saturday. The incident took place at Naldurg near Osmanabad in Maharashtra.

Chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy spoke with his Maharashtra counter part, Prithviraj Chavan, for coordination of emergency relief measures. He also directed the officials to create a help desk and a special team at the Osmania Hospital.

The deceased software engineers, many of them women, were said to have joined the software company recently and planned for a pilgrimage to Shirdi for the weekend.

Confirming the death toll, the state road transport minister B Satyanarayana said steps were being taken to move the bodies to Hyderabad.
