Beru sets up plant in Pune

Beru Diesel Start Systems Pvt. Ltd. (Beru India), a joint venture between Jayant Group and Beru -Germany, has set up a brand new manufacturing plant in Talegaon, Pune. The company has invested Rs 30 crore into this plant at the Talegaon MIDC.

"This new facility resulted due to the ever increasing demand of the Beruproducts and the company's strategy to create India as a strategic business entity in the Asia- Pacific region especially with the growth of the regional Automotive Industry locally and its demand internationally," said Jayant Dave, President, Beru India commenting on this development.

This greenfield facility is being set up to manufacture cold starting systems like glow plugs, grid heaters, glow plug controllers , electronic parts and allied system components. The facility will also be used as a base to bring in an advanced Beru product range in ignition technologies, automotive electronics and sensor technologies as well as ignition products for the heat industry.

Beru has had a manufacturing footprint in India since 1996 with a manufacturing plant for glow plugs in Pune This has now also moved and merged with this new Talegaon plant. With this facility Beru has increased its capacity to 5 million glow plugs from the existing 1 million glow plugs. Beru supplies its products to the passenger cars, commercial vehicle and off-highway vehicle.
