She’s the latest of the GenNext daughters of the TVS Group to slide into a top position. Last week, Lakshmi Venu, 27, the daughter of TVS Motor Company CMD and Sundaram Clayton Ltd (SCL) MD Venu Srinivasan, won shareholder approval to be elevated to the position of director-strategy at SCL. The company is gearing up for major growth after the demerger of its brakes business.

She is a graduate of Yale University and holds a doctorate in engineering management from University of Warwick. Venu, who draws inspiration from both her father and mother Mallika Srinivasan, who heads leading tractor firm TAFE, has been groomed since 2003 in various positions. She is soon to be daughter-in-law of Infosys co-founder and Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy.
