Dr Reddy's launches Sildenafil tablets in US

Sildenafil tablets are used to treat erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension

Following the approval by the United States Food and Drug Administration for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA), Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical major Laboratories Limited has launched in the US market on November 16, 2012.

A bioequivalent generic version of Revatio, Sildenafil tablets are used to treat erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

The Revatio brand had US sales of approximately $338.67 million for the most-recent 12 months ending September 2012, according to IMS Health, Dr Reddy's said in a filing to the BSE on Monday.

Dr Reddy's scrip is currently trading at Rs 1,769 on the BSE, up 0.66%, over the previous close of Rs 1,757.35 a share.
