Dr Reddy's launches Sildenafil tablets in US

Following the approval by the United States Food and Drug Administration for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA), Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical major Dr Reddy's Laboratories Limited has launched Sildenafil tablets in the US market on November 16, 2012.

A bioequivalent generic version of Revatio, Sildenafil tablets are used to treat erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

The Revatio brand had US sales of approximately $338.67 million for the most-recent 12 months ending September 2012, according to IMS Health, Dr Reddy's said in a filing to the BSE on Monday.

Dr Reddy's scrip is currently trading at Rs 1,769 on the BSE, up 0.66%, over the previous close of Rs 1,757.35 a share.
