Hero MotoCorp Q4 net up 20% at Rs 604 cr

Two-wheeler motorcycle manufacturer Hero MotoCorp reported a 20.3% rise in net profit at Rs 603.5 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012. It was Rs 501.6 crore in the same period a year ago.

Total income increased 12.2% to Rs 6,140 crore from Rs 5,471.3 crore in March 2011.

Other income was up 31.2% at Rs 105 crore while it was Rs 80 crore in March 2011.

In yearly terms also the company posted positive results. Net profit jumped 23.3% to Rs 2,378.1 crore for the financial year ended March 2012. It was Rs 1,928 crore in March 2011.

Total income was up 21.6% at Rs 23,943.6 crore as against Rs 19,687.5 crore in the previous financial year ending March 2011.

The company announced a dividend of Rs 45 per share. It has raised prices of most of its products by Rs 500-1,000 with immediate effect to offset rising input costs.

The stock closed at a new high of Rs 2,245 on Bombay Stock Exchange, up 0.4%
