The company recorded Rs 150 crore turnover in the last financial from the southern region. “We have been growing at 10 per cent over the last few years. With a robust product-pipeline, we expect to grow more than 15 per cent over the next two years to reach the Rs 200 crore mark,” AV Anoop, managing director of AVA Cholayil Health Care, told Business Standard.
It runs three brands - Medimix, Divine and Sanjeevanam. Under the Medimix brand, it has handwash and soap in three variants.
It has six Sanjeevanams, its wellness centre, across the south. Sanjeevanam comprises therapeutic centres combining various treatments from ayurveda, naturopathy and yoga.
The company’s research and development (R&D) team, with over 40-years of expertise in ayurveda and cosmetic preparation, has formulated 20 products under the cosmetics and medicinal category. “Many of those are also clinically proven with some hospitals. We will launch the products over the next three years under the three brands,” he said.
The company has tied up with hospitals and chemists to market the products.
It is also planning to set up a 100-bedded multi-speciality ayurvedic hospital in Kerala by 2014 under the Sanjeevanam brand. “The hospital will come up with an investment of Rs 30 crore in two phases and will be internally funded,” he said. It is also open to organic growth.
Anoop was here to launch ‘Divine’ soap in the Hyderabad market. The company had recently acquired the brand rights of 'Divine', which is a herbal company.
It is also part of the cluster ‘Care Kerala’ - an initiative of Kerala and central government’s Ayush department to promote ayurveda. The Rs 20-crore cluster has more than 200 members.
“At the cluster, we are focusing on plantation of ayurvedic herbs, collection of herbs to standardisation and promotion of ayurvedic products,” he said.
