Mercedes-Benz launches A-Class at Rs 25 lakh

Launched in 2013, A-Class is cheapest vehicle in German company's line up

Mercedes-Benz, India's largest maker, today drove in the new priced at Rs 24.95 lakh for the petrol variant (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Launched in 2013 the is the cheapest car in the German company's line up. The diesel version of the car is priced at Rs 25.95 lakh.

This is the 15th and the last model launch by Mercedes-committed for the year.

Roland Folger, managing director and CEO, Mercedes-India said, "The has been instrumental in making Mercedes-brand more youthful. We are confident that the new will continue to remain on top of customers'preference".

The car has a 1.6 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine that produces peak power of 122hp. The 2.2 litre, 4 cylinder diesel produces 136hp of peak power, generating a top speed of 210km/hr.
