JM Torri, chief operating officer (COO), Roman Tarmat, told Business Standard the order from the Tamil Nadu government involved upgrading of 25 km road from two lane to four lane on NH 45 and NH 54. The project has been awarded by Tamil Nadu Road Infrastructure Development Company (TNRIDC).

He said the two contracts were worth Rs 56.98 and Rs 49.50 crore respectively, and comprised 12.5 km stretch each from Singaperumalkovil to Kanchipuram and Vandallur to Wallajabad.

Both the projects are expected to commence on July 1 and will be completed in 15 months. The company needs 20 metres of land on either side of the current highway for which land acquisition was completed, he said.

Meanwhile, the company is also expecting an order from the heavy industries department for laying an automotive test track in Kanchipuram, 50 km from Chennai. The project size is about Rs 95 crore, and order in this regard is expected anytime, Torri said.

The other recent projects include construction of a road inside the Mangalore Port, and a project for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
