Creative agency Taproot, part of the Dentsu India Group (DIG), has bagged the Creative Agency of the Year and Agency of the Year trophies for India and the Sub-continent at the annual Campaign Asia-Pacific Awards in Singapore. The awards, into its nineteenth year, recognises creative leadership and management excellence in advertising and communications.

The recognition comes a week after Taproot walked away with three golds at the Ad Club of Bombay's Annual Effectiveness or Effie Awards.

It also came second at the Creative Abbies, held at the Goafest in April, besides getting a gold at Cannes in June for its film work for Bennett & Coleman alongwith Ramesh Deo Productions.

Led by creatives Agnello Dias and Santosh Padhi, it was this year that Japanese advertising group Dentsu acquired a 51% stake in Taproot. The latter was in talks with a number of ad groups for a stake sale zeroing in on Dentsu, who provide them network support.
