TCS to expand UK operations

India's largest information technology services provider, Tata Consultancy Services (), says it is expanding operations in Britain. A new facility at Liverpool is to be fully operational in July, with about 300 employees.

The new centre is to deliver government services requiring what is known as 'Impact Level 3 (IL3)' security constraints. TCS plans to use the facility to deliver services to the Home Office, following a multi-million, multi-year contract awarded in November 2012, to manage the technology needs and support services of the UK government's new Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

, Transport for London ink MoU
Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and Transport for London signed a memorandum of understanding to develop an underground metro system in Mumbai. Of the proposed 146-km metro network in Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, MMRDA plans to construct 33 km underground.

Also, has proposed to set up a research and development centre at Warwickshire. The InterContinental Hotel Group plans to build 13 new hotels over the next few years in India.
