Torrent Pharma posts Rs 97 lakh loss in Q4

Torrent Pharmaceuticals today posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 97 lakh for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012.

The company had a net profit of Rs 42.84 crore during the same period the previous fiscal, Torrent Pharmaceuticals said in a BSE filing.

Net sales of the company rose to Rs 654 crore for the fourth quarter, as against Rs 485.70 crore during the same period of previous financial year.

For the year ended March 31, 2012, the company reported a net profit of Rs 286.30 crore, as compared to Rs 270.16 crore in 2010-11 fiscal.

Net sales of the company for the year ended March 31, 2012, stood at Rs 2,594.41 crore, as against Rs 2,114.74 crore in 2010-11.

The company's board, which met on May 18, has recommended a final dividend of Rs 2.50 per equity share of Rs 5 each.
