Whirlpool Q4 net drops by 21% to Rs 37.2 cr

Home appliances maker Whirlpool of India today reported 21.24% decline in its net profit for the quarter ended March 31 at Rs 37.16 crore.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 47.18 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, Whirlpool of India said in a filing to the BSE.

The total income from operations during the fourth quarter, however, increased by 6.29% to Rs 649.37 crore from Rs 610.97 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

For the entire 2011-12 financial year, Whirlpool of India saw its net profit falling 25.48% to Rs 123.73 crore from Rs 166.03 crore in the previous fiscal, the filing said.

The total income from operations in FY12 also went down by 1.66% to Rs 2,657.94 crore from Rs 2,702.80 crore in FY11, it added.

Shares of Whirlpool of India today closed 0.05% up at Rs 208.40 apiece on the BSE.
