Centre should rollback petrol price: Nitish

Also criticised the Centre for falling rupee and inflation

Press Trust of India Patna

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said that his government could do little to give relief from the steep increase in petrol price of Rs 7.50 per litre and demanded its rollback.

"The state government does not have any extra room for consideration to bring down the petrol price. Whatever has to be done, has to be done by the Centre," Kumar told reporters here.

Stating that the consumption of petrol was low in the state, he said the Centre had once again imposed an additional burden on the common man, already hit by skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.

He also criticised the Centre for the falling rupee and increase in inflation.
