GDP grows 7.3% in Q2, but demonetisation could play spoiler in H2

The gross domestic product (GDP) growth accelerated slightly in the July-September quarter, compared to the growth recorded in the previous quarter, but economists and policy planners said growth will suffer a setback in the second half of the year because of the impact of demonetisation.


Nusli Wadia warns Tata Sons of legal action if special notice not withdrawn

Nusli Wadia, independent director (ID) on the board of Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals and Tata Motors, has warned holding company Tata Sons to withdraw the special notice to remove him from the Tata Steel board.


Demonetisation could delay GST roll-out, says West Bengal FM

Demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes, and the resulting turmoil, makes the April 1, 2017, target date for a national goods and services tax (GST) unlikely, said Amit Mitra, finance minister of West Bengal.
