Prasanna Kumar Mohanty, a 1979 batch IAS officer, was on Tuesday appointed as chief secretary, Andhra Pradesh government. He held the position of chief commissioner of land administration for a brief period following his return from the central services earlier this year.
Mohanty had served as mission director for the Jawarlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission in the urban development ministry for almost seven years after he joined the central services in 2006. His academic qualifications include a Ph.D in economics from Boston University, US.
