The Andhra Pradesh government has requested the Centre to consider the Feeder Segregation Project (FSP), aimed at providing three-phase power supply to small and medium industries in rural areas to reduce the urban-rural disparities, by providing financial assistance to the tune of Rs 3,014 crore under the National Electricity Fund or any other suitable scheme of the central government, including the World Bank Assisted Project.
The FSP project involves erecting a parallel rural distribution network of 11-kV feeders spanning over 150 kilometres to segregate the existing over 8,880 mixed rural feeders.
FSP project is meant for overall rural economic development and hence top priority will be given for the implementation of this project, particularly near mandal headquarters.
Meanwhile, the AP power utilities are going to submit a comprehensive report on the general power supply position, several initiatives taken to meet the ever-increasing power demand, actual availability of power in the state, apart from the central government scheme of restructured accelerated power development schemes process to the Centre on Monday, the release added.
