Govt gets Rs 632-cr illegal mining fine

The government on Monday said it had realised fines worth Rs 632 crore from companies and officials found involved in illegal mining between 2006 and September last year. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, mines minister Dinsha Patel said during the same period, the highest amount of fine was realised from Andhra Pradesh followed by Rs 104.96 crore from Tamil Nadu and Rs 104.24 crore from Gujarat.
