Permission has been granted to Himachal EMTA Power Ltd (HEPL) for setting up of a pithead power plant in a joint venture (JV), to generate 660 megawatt (Mw) thermal power by investing around Rs 4,000 crore in the entire project.
The Himachal Pradesh cabinet today gave its clearance for setting up of the pithead power plant by a JV between Himachal Pradesh Power CorporationLtd(HPPCL) and Eastern Minerals & Trading Agency (EMTA).
The proposed plant will be set up in West Bengal to generate 660 Mw thermal power.
The cabinet also decided to procure ‘seedling’ and ‘grafted’ varieties of mango fruits at Rs 4.58 and at Rs 5.25 per kg respectively from July 1 to August 15 across the state.
The state-run HPMC, HIMFED and HP Agro Industries Corporation have been designated as procurement agencies. At least 34 fruit procurement centres will be set up across the mango belt of the state, a spokesman of the state government said.
The cabinet also granted approval for starting of efficient ambulance services under the emergency medical response and transport system for the benefit of patients and pregnant women.
The state government will enter into a PPP agreement with the Emergency Management and Research Institute, Hyderabad.
