Madhya Pradesh Housing Board to build 2,000 houses

State-owned real-estate entity has launched an ambitious plan to construct more than 2,000 housing units for various economic strata this year. Construction work will also begin this year and few of them will be completed before 2010. Of them 640 units will be constructed only in Bhopal, 800 in Jabalpur, 650 in Rewa, 200 units in Indore on Rau road, 162 units in Ratlam, 70 housing units in Ashok Nagar, 143 units in Satna, 45 units in Parasia (Chhindwara), 174 at Maharajpur locality in Jabalpur and 366 units in Khandwa.

Similarly it will launch its projects for registration in Sagar for 20 MIGs (Houses for middle income group), 7 HIGs (for Higher income group), 25 HIGs in luxury category, 23 senior (spacious) and Junior (low carpet area) HIGs and 50 units are proposed to be constructed for lower income group families.

“Registration for each project is open, and construction work on most of the houses will begin soon,” said a housing board official.

State is experiencing shortage of low-cost house, the board has planned as many as 7,000 housing units within two years from now.

“Besides Bhopal, Indore and Sagar, the housing board has also plans to constructed 92 EWS (houses for economically weaker sections) in Dacha town of Gwalior range, 20 units for higher income group, and 108 for lower income group families. Similarly it has proposed to construct 69 houses for lower and middle income group families in Monera.

“Housing board has also undertaken a project of 800 units in Jabalpur this year, the registration for these houses have already been invited,” said the official.

The board has floated 78 schemes at different locations namely Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Sagar, Jabalpur, Char, Gina, Hoshangabad, Khandwa, Khartoum, Burundian, Jainism, Mandamus, Katina, Seoul, Chhindwara, Satna, Penna, Mailer, Sindhi, Shadowy, Backhand, Tikamgarh, Chhattarpur and Itarsi. All the houses for lower income group will be available in a price range of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh.

These houses will have at least two-to-three bedroom accommodation and few projects will have facilities like reception lobby for each block, separate covered parking for visitors and guests, entertainment houses, clubs, nursery and primary schools, separate accommodation for senior citizens, no traffic zone, power back up, tranquil atmosphere, lawn tennis and volleyball court, kids zone, food zone and jogging track and security.
