Stern action will be taken against those found guilty in the violence that erupted at Maruti's in Haryana on Wednesday, state Chief Minister said today.

"A SIT that has been formed is looking into the issue. Stern action would be taken against those found guilty," Hooda told reporters here after chairing a meeting of the State Cabinet.

A senior management official was killed in the violence that erupted Maruti's Manesar plant on Wednesday. Nearly 100 arrests were carried out in the wake of the incident.

Hooda said it was unfortunate that violence had occurred in the Manesar plant.

"Investigations are on and law will take its own course," the Chief Minister said.

Meanwhile, Congress Kurukshetra MP and industrialist said the government is making all efforts to ensure that things return to normal in Maruti's Manesar plant.

He said that Wednesday's incident should not shake the investor confidence in Haryana.

"Haryana enjoys a good reputation and has been a favourite investment destination. We ourselves have grown from Haryana, we have large investments here," Jindal said.

The government will take all steps to protect investments that have come to Haryana, he said, adding "the government is making all efforts to resolve the disputes, whatever these may be, between the workers and management."

However, he also said that nobody can be allowed to take law in one's own hands.

"All those persons who have indulged in arson and looting will face action as per law," he said.
