TN Speaker orders arrest of Hindu journalists

 The order follows a case related to three news reports that appeared in the newspaper. The reports were referred suo motu by the Speaker to the Privileges Committee of the Assembly on April 23 this year.  Publisher S Rangarajan, Editor N Ravi, Executive Editor Malini Parthasarathy, Chief of Bureau (Tamil Nadu) V Jayanth and journalist Radha Venkatesan were among those ordered arrest.  The Hindu said none of the concerned functionaries of the company were in the office and could not be arrested as the police did not have the relevant papers.
