JNU Release Entrance Exam Dates For 2017-18

Candidates must keep in mind that the last date to fill up the JNU entrance exam application form is October 13, 2017.

The (JNU) on September 14, 2017 (Thursday) released the schedule for its 2018-19 entrance examination. A total of 720 seats for M Phil/ PhD courses, 459 for BA programs and 1,118 seats for MA, M.Sc, M.Tech and MPH courses are offered by the Because of reduction in the number of seats for M.Phil and PhD courses, teachers and students have risen against the administration. The University said that the part-time programs such as diploma and certificate courses will have 240 seats open.

They had made a declaration in May 2017 about the entrance exams for all courses being moved from the typical period between May and June to December. The proposal for this shifting of exam was put forward at the Academic Council (AC)’s formal meeting. Later on it was approved by the Standing Committee. The proposal was kept two years ago. The concerned authority after analyzing its feasibility throughout those two years finally shifted the conduct of the exam to December. However, the Teachers Association (JNUTA) objected to the short notice served in pronouncing the decision and asked the authority to give more time for formal discussion on shifting its entrance examination.
