Cardamom up 0.74% on spot demand

Cardamom continued its rising streak, added Rs 14.10 or 0.74 per cent to Rs 1,925.20 per kg in futures trading today on sustained buying by speculators against restricted arrivals from the producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for July contract rose Rs 14.10, or 0.74 per cent to Rs 1,925.20 per kg, with an open interest of 1,554 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in current-month June gained Rs 0.70, or 0.04 per cent to Rs 1,960.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,144 lots.
Market analysts said sustained buying by speculators, driven by good demand in spot markets against less arrivals from the producing regions helped cardamom prices to trade in positive zone.
Fresh exports enquiries also influenced the cardamom prices, they said.
