Crude oil down pressurised by global concerns

Crude oil futures prices today fell 0.65% to Rs 5,078 per barrel, as speculators trimmed positions amid a weakening trend overseas.

At the MCX, crude oil for delivery in the May contract declined by Rs 33, or 0.65%, to Rs 5,078 per barrel in a turnover of 11,798 lots.

Similarly, the oil for the June delivery contract moved down by Rs 33, or 0.64%, to Rs 5,187 per barrel in 1,136 lots.

Analysts said trading sentiments remained weak at futures trade after crude oil prices extended losses in the Asian trade today amid concern about Europe's debt crisis.

Meanwhile, crude oil for delivery in June, the three-month contract  fell 47 cents to $94.31 a barrel, the lowest since December on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
