PEC floats bids for import of 7,500 tonne crude soyabean oil

State trading firm PEC Ltd has invited bids for import of 7,500 tonne crude soyabean oil from Argentina to be delivered this month.

The tender will close on 8 August and will be valid till 9 August, the company said on its website.

PEC said bidders should deliver imported crude soyabean at the Kandla port, Gujarat, this month.

The company will not entertain requests for extension in the shipment period.

India, which meets 50% of its edible oil demand through imports, purchased about 9 million tonne of all kinds of edible oil from the global market last year.
