Sensex slumps 199pts; TCS drops 3.5%

The Sensex slumped to a low of 11,685, and is now down 199 points at 11,717.

Only two of the thirty Sensex stocks are in positive zone.

TCS has plunged 3.5% to Rs 1,908. Tata Steel, Tata Power and Tata Motors are down 4% each at Rs 633, Rs 554 and Rs 929, respectively.

Cipla has tumbled over 3% to Rs 251, and Ranbaxy is down 2.7% at Rs 484.

Hindalco, NTPC and Bajaj Auto have declined 3% each to Rs 206, Rs 130 and Rs 2,845, respectively.

The market breadth is negative. Out of 2,542 stocks traded so far, 1,351 have declined, 1,118 have advanced and 73 are unchanged.
