Rahat Rafi, a budding musician-cum-singer from the remote and backward area of the Chenab Valley of Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, caught the public's eye quite recently.
Rafi, who comes from a middle class family, has been fond of music and singing since childhood and is pursuing his graduation in music and fine arts. He also wants to do a doctorate in music and fine arts so that he can learn all the basics of music and also teach the subject to other budding singers of the Chenab Valley.
"I have performed everywhere in Doda district. I have also preformed in Chandigarh and Delhi too. There is not much opportunity here for singers, so, I want to do a PhD so that I can teach budding talents," he said
Rafi wants to perform at a much higher level in the coming years. He said that his parents have always supported his passion for music and singing.
