The National Green Tribunal, on the petition of ex-Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) will jointly inspect and file a report on the issue of e-waste burning carrying at River Ramganga, Moradabad.
In the petition, it is stated that CPCB made a surprise inspection at district Moradabad wherein the team found that at many places illegal processing of e-waste is being carried on which is polluting the river Ramganga.
The complete analysis of surface water samples indicated presence of heavy metals, including iron, zinc, copper and mercury.
CPCB has given strict orders to the district magistrate of Moradabad but he has failed to take control of the said illegal activities.
Next hearing on this matter will be held on March 24.
