Post CID confirmation of leak, Telangana govt scraps EAMCET

Just a few days before students are due to appear for the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test-2, 2016 (EAMCET- 2), the Government has decided to scrap the test, after the Crime Investigation Department (CID) confirmed reports that question papers had been leaked.

The students were allegedly handed over question papers along with their answers for the competitive examination that was to be conducted for seats in and

tabled the CID report before the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao who ordered a fresh test.

Meanwhile, hundreds of students and parents took to the streets on Friday at various places to protest against the leak of question papers and demanded that the Telnagana Government punish students who had bought the leaked questions papers. They and appealed to the state government not to cancel the test.

Meanwhile, the CID has today arrested 52-year-old Shaik Raheem alias Ramesh in connection with the leak of the question papers.
