SC to hear plea regarding transfer of Shahabuddin to Tihar Jail today

The Supreme on Tuesday will hear the plea regarding shifting RJD strongman Mohammad from Siwan jail in to Tihar Central Jail in the capital.

was granted bail by the High on September 7 and was released from Bhagalpur jail on September 10.

He was in jail for 11 years in connection with dozens of cases against him.

Slain journalist Rajdeo Ranjan's widow Asha Ranjan had filed a plea in the apex seeking to shift from the Siwan to the Tihar jail so that witnesses in her husband's case are not influenced. Hearing Asha Ranjan's plea earlier on October 17, an apex bench headed by Justice Dipak Mishra had directed the (CBI) to complete the probe within three months.

Shahabuddin, who had been in jail for more than 10 years in connection with multiple cases, was granted bail by the High on September 7 in connection with the of a man who witnessed the killing of two brothers in Siwan.
