B Panth hospital where he was declared dead.
52-year-old Badul Sur, a police Havaldar on personal guard duty shot himself at the official residence of Tapan Chakraboty, Minister for School Education, Industries and IT. The minister was then getting ready to move for the Assembly.
Badul, a resident of Siddhi Ashram area in southern Agartala, had lost his wife half-and-a-year ago, due to which he reportedly was in a state of severe depression.
He is survived by a son.
The police has ordered an investigation into the incident.
