Australia Market ends higher

Australian shares ended higher for fourth straight session on Monday, 08 January 2018, on the back of positive cues from Wall Street Friday, with shares of financial, being notable gains offsetting a retreat for the miners and companies. The benchmark S&P/200 index ended the session 0.1% higher at 6,130.4 points.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the by 629 to 570 and 349 ended unchanged. The S&P/200 VIX, which measures the implied of S&P/200 options, was up 4.45% to 9.826.
