India's fuel product consumption or sales galloped 7.2% to 18.62 mt in March 2018 over a year ago. Diesel sales jumped 8.0% to 7.35 mt, petrol 14.2% to 2.40 mt, LPG 8.9% to 2.06 mt, petcoke 6.5% to 2.33 mt and ATF 11.1% to 0.69 mt. The consumption of lubes/greases also improved 19.0% to 0.36 mt, bitumen 5.9% to 0.76 mt and 6.3% to 0.59 mt. Further, the consumption of naphtha improved 2.8% to 1.13 mt and (LDO) 45.0% to 0.05 mt, but that of other products declined 3.7% to 0.63 mt and kerosene 31.6% to 0.28 mt in March 2018.

Consumption or sales of increased 5.3% to 204.92 mt in April-March FY2018 over April-March FY2017. Sales of diesel increased 6.6%, petrol 10.1%, petcoke 9.3%, LPG 8.0% and ATF 8.9%. Consumption of other products moved up 7.0%, lubes/greases 8.9%, LDO 16.6% and bitumen 1.2%. However, the consumption of declined 5.5%, naphtha 5.2% and kerosene 28.8% in April-March FY2018.
