November 2016 futures trade at premium to spot price

The October 2016 futures on the 50 index traded at 8677, at a slight discount compared with the Nifty's closing of 8677.90 in the cash market. The November 2016 futures traded at 8715.70, a premium of 37.80 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 4.44 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 3.63 lakh crore registered yesterday, 17 October 2016.

In the cash market, the rose 157.50 points or 1.85% to settle at 8,677.90, its highest closing level since 10 October 2016.

ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, Axis Bank, State Bank of India and Yes Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. ICICI Bank October 2016 futures traded at 269.10, at a discount compared with spot closing of 269.25. Tata Steel October 2016 futures traded at 426.10, at a premium compared with spot closing of 425.90. Axis Bank October 2016 futures traded at 532.70, near spot closing of 532.65.

State Bank of India October 2016 futures traded at 257.60, near spot closing of 256.70. Yes Bank October 2016 futures traded at 1295.95, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1292.

The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016. The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 24 November 2016.
