26 injured in Madrid club ceiling collapse

At least 26 people were injured early on Sunday when the ceiling of a in the Spanish capital of collapsed, emergency services said.

The incident happened in the "La Suegra" discotheque in district at 1.30 a.m. local time when around 16 sq.m. of the ceiling on the second floor collapsed, reported.

A total of 26 people were injured, with the ambulance service reporting that 15 received treatment from emergency services at the scene, and 11 were taken to different hospitals.

The were also on the scene to help rescue victims, and they immediately closed the upper floor of the building to prevent any further collapses.

Police were investigating the cause of the accident.
