Rabat, March 20 (IANS/MAP) The 24th conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) kicked off on Monday here in Morocco.
Held under the theme "consolidation of Arab joint action", the two-day meeting will be marked by the election of a new President of the AIPU and the discussion of the Union's working plan for 2017.
The participants will also discuss the current situation in the Arab world as well as the challenges facing Arab countries.
Founded in 1974, AIPU is an Arab parliamentary organisation composed of parliamentary groups representing Arab Parliaments with the aim of strengthening joint Arab action.
