Assam Police review security of BJP leaders

Some unidentified men fired at the vehicle of leader Sibnath Brahma in Kokrajhar town on Sunday night and injured one of his associates.

One of the two suspected militants walked up to his vehicle and fired from close range.

"We have inputs that the anti-talk faction might target some leaders. Security has been intensified across the state and the existing security of Gogoi and Sarma is being reviewed," the officer said.

"There are also inputs that armed cadres of the anti-talk faction and NSCN(K) have entered Assam," said the official.

Of late, militants have intensified extortion drive in Tinsukia and Charaideo districts.
