The Communist Party of India on Saturday termed the death of Cuban revolutionary and former President Fidel Castro as a huge loss to the Communist movement and said his life would be an inspiration to the whole world.
"His whole life is a source of inspiration and enlightenment to the world," Raja said.
Defining the life of the former Cuban President, the Rajya Sabha member said, "He was a great legend, a great Marxist, a thinker and a revolutionary fighter."
"He led the Cuban revolution, he established and played the historic role in establishment of the first socialist country in the Western hemisphere. And despite all sinister campaigns carried out by the US, he could unite the people of Cuba against US' imperialism," the CPI national secretary said.
Raja also said that Castro played a great role in "shaping the course of world history" by playing a remarkable role in the Non-Aligned Movement and building special relationship with countries including India.
