Narnaul town was hot at 44 degrees while Hisar in Haryana sizzled at 43.4 degrees on Saturday as heat wave conditions prevailed over most parts of Haryana and Punjab.
The maximum temperatures were four to nine degrees above normal, Met department officials said here.
Heat wave conditions intensified across both states with the maximum temperature crossing the 40-degree Celsius mark at several places.
Amritsar city in Punjab recorded a high of 41.6 degrees, nine degrees above average. Patiala and Ludhiana in Punjab were at 40.8 and 40.9 degrees, respectively.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 38.9 degrees while Ambala in Haryana saw a high of 39.4 degrees. Met department officials said heat wave conditions would prevail over the region in the coming days.
