All rivers in are flowing above the danger level following torrential rains in the state, with the river breaching the banks in Kairung village on Wednesday.

Many low-lying areas in city and nearby areas were inundated. Irrigation and Flood Control Minister L. Haokip toured the affected areas along with officials.

Some portions of the National Highway that links Nagaland and with Assam are also under flood waters. Trucks, buses and private cars have been told not to ply on the highway.
