President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday greeted Mauritania on its National Day.
"Greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your National Day," Mukherjee said in a statement issued here.
"I am confident that our close ties will be further strengthened in the coming years to the mutual benefit of the peoples of our two countries," the President said in his message to his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.
"Please accept my good wishes for your personal health and well-being, as well as for the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania," he said.
Mauritania is a country in the Maghreb region of western North Africa and celebrates its National Day on November 28.
