Schwing Stetter plans new plant at Rs.100 crore outlay
Chennai, Dec 8 (INS) German concrete machinery manufacturer Schwing Stetter has drawn up plans to expand its capacity by setting up a new Rs 100 crore plant here and also will increase its product range, said a top company official of its Indian subsidiary on Friday.
"We plan to have a greenfield project near our existing facility here at an outlay of Rs 100 crore. We will shift the production of a range of machinery there freeing up space at the existing facility to roll out newer equipments," nand Sundaresan, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Schwing Stetter India Pvt Ltd told reporters here.
The $1 billion turnover Schwing Stetter group part of Chinese construction equipment machinery group XCMG.
ccording to Sundaresan, the XCMG group may also set up a new facility to make non-concrete machinery.
On the product expansion side, V.G.Sakthikumar, Managing Director, Schwing Stetter Sales & Services Ltd said the company would be launching range of machinery at the ensuing Excon 2017 (an exhibition of construction equipments) to be held in Bengaluru.
ccording to him, the new product range has been chosen is based on government investment plans in rural/urban, Swachh Bharat, Metro, High Speed Rail and Expressways, Tunnels and irport infrastructure sectors.
Some of the new products that would be launched are stationary concrete pumps, Gomaco concrete pavers, plastering pumps, tower cranes, crawler cranes, milling machines and others.
