Dave, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and a member of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh, died at his official sidence in Delhi.
He was found dead around 7.30 a.m. on Thursday when his staff tried to wake him up.
The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister wrote on Twitter: "Anil Dave was true worker of RSS and BJP. Throughout his life, he served the nation with utter dedication."
In another tweet, the Chief Minister called Dave's death a personal loss and said: "The nation has lost a true patriot and son of mother Narmada. This loss would not be compensated ever."
