Beijing, May 17 (IANS/WAM) Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, UAE's Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Vice Chairman of Central Military Commission of China General Fan Changlong discussed military ties between the two countries at a meeting here on Wednesday.
The officials exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest, including international counter-terrorism efforts as well as boosting stability and peace.
The Chinese official welcomed Al Bowardi's visit to China, stressing that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is an important strategic partner of China in the Gulf region.
Al Bowardi also met Chinese Defence Minister General Chang Wanquan.
The two meetings were attended by a number of senior officers from the UAE'S General Command of Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence.
On the Chinese side, the meetings were attended by several military officials.
