A young man was stabbed to death by four persons in a south Delhi park when he resisted their attempts to snatch his mobile phone and wallet, police said on Sunday.
"Naresh was strolling with his friend when the four accused accosted them and tried to snatch his valuables at knife-point. Following an altercation, they stabbed him over half a dozen times and escaped with his cell phone and wallet," Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said.
A murder case has been registered against the accused and some youths have been detained for questioning. Some suspects have been identified.
The woman told police that the accused threatened to kill her too when she tried to intervene. "Some park visitors were present but no one dared to help Naresh," the police official added.
