Earlier in the week, Nobel laureate Amartya Sen had controversially criticized Modi, who has been advocating what is popularly known as the 'Modi model of governance'.

(United) leader Ali Anwar hit out at Chief Minister Modi for his model of governance, saying that the (BJP) leader has deteriorated the condition of the state.

"has been a developed state from the beginning. What has Modi done? Modi has, in fact, deteriorated the state. There are huge numbers of people dying of malnutrition in Modi's Gujarat. The only thing he has done is that he has sold the land in at shamefully low prices to big corporate houses" Anwar said here today.

Commenting on Gujarat's physical infrastructure growth Anwar said, "He (Modi) is looting the state. After he is removed only will the country get to know what the real state of affairs are in Gujarat."

Earlier in the week, Nobel laureate had controversially criticized Modi, who has been advocating what is popularly known as the 'Modi model of governance'. Sen had expressed his concerns regarding Modi as Prime Minister, saying that he had doubts over the Chief Minister's secular credentials.

Additionally, Sen told a television channel during an interview that Modi could have done more for 's education, health and for secularism, instead of focusing solely on physical infrastructure development in that state.
