GJM thinktank demands transfer of pending depts to GTA

"Though 57 departments were agreed to be put under GTA administration by this year August, 36 are still to be transferred to GTA," Chettri said.

GTA was also yet to receive the committed funding of Rs 200 crore," he said.

In addition the state government was yet to withdraw the cases pending against GJM leader as demanded by the party, he said.

"We have always remained very friendly to present state government. The state government must clarify its position on GTA immediately. Otherwise, we will be forced to scrap the GTA agreement and go for bigger movement," Chetri warned.

North Bengal Development minister Goutam Dev said, "Transferring departments is a long process and the government must be given adequate time for it."
