Prevent crime against women: WB govt to police

"The superintendents of police have been asked to issue chargesheets against the accused at the earliest in such cases to expedite conviction," Director General of Police Naparajit Mukherjee said here today.

"Crime against women in the districts of Howrah, Birbhum and Hooghly are most unfortunate. I have asked all SPs to look into this," the DGP said.

Mukherjee said that those arrested in connection with the unnatural death of a destitute woman at a home at Gurap in Hooghly district have been convicted.
